Booking

How do I book?

Do I need a referral?

No. However, your insurance provider may require a referral for coverage purposes so contact them to check.

What's your cancellation policy?

​Cancellations require a minimum of 24 hours notice, otherwise a $150 cancellation fee applies. 

Payment

How much is an assessment or treatment?

All services, regardless if it's an assessment or treatment, are billed based on time. Most 1 hour in-person appointments are $187.50- $225, depending where in the city you live. 

- 1 hour virtual service: $150 (no GST)

- 1 hour in-person service: $150 plus $75/1 hour travel round-trip (no GST)

Do you charge tax?

No. All our services are tax exempt.  

 

What payment types do you take?

We take all major credit cards, e-transfers, cheque and cash. 

 

How do I pay?

After your service you will be invoiced electronically through our Jane booking system. If you do not have access to the internet/printer we can mail you a copy of the invoice.

Can I direct bill?

It depends on your insurance provider. Some allow us to direct bill, others do not. 

Services

How long are sessions?

Typically one hour, but it depends on your goals of the session.

Where are sessions?

We provide services in your home, at your work, or a private community space of your choosing (i.e. library) or virtually via a secure platform. In-person we service Edmonton and everywhere South of it within Alberta, including Red Deer, Calgary, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Banff, and all rural communities in between. Virtually we can provide services to anyone residing in Alberta.

What if I'm unable to do in-home sessions? 

We can meet in a private community space of your choosing or virtually.

Do you have a clinic?

Due to the nature of our business we don't need one. When we need one (i.e. for formal/specific assessments) we rent an appropriate office or clinic space.

Are sessions confidential?

Your personal and personal health information is confidential and protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (section 33c), the Health Information Act, and the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. There are limits to confidentiality and that in the following circumstances Valley to Peak may disclose your personal information without your consent, or if consent has been withdrawn, where permitted or required by law to do so:

  • Referral for a work-related claim by Workers Compensation;

  • Referral by an insurance company;

  • A medical emergency;

  • A court order asking regarding Valley to Peak involvement;

  • The possibility of neglect and/or abuse of dependents; or

  • The possibility of being a danger to yourself or others.​

What qualifications do your OTs have? 

Our OT's hold either a Bachelors or Masters degree in occupational therapy, depending on when they graduated. All of our OT's are certified and are members in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT), and abide by the ACOT regulations and bylaws (see www.acot.ca). All of our OT's have additional training in a variety of specialisations including mental health, Long-COVID, ergonomics, accessibility, driving, exposure therapy, wheelchair prescription, etc.

Who do you work with?

Anyone from 12- 112 years old! We work with people from all walks of life, all backgrounds, all races, all genders, all sexual orientation/lifestyles, all religions, all socioeconomic statuses from the unhoused to the wealthy. We provide a safe, judgment-free space for everyone. We do not provide services for young children currently, but do work with teens.​

Refund Policy

Services are billed post-service completion, so refunds are rarely provided. If you have a concern with your invoice please contact us to discuss this.

The purpose of this privacy policy (this "Privacy Policy") is to inform users of our Site of the

4. The rights of Site users; and

Data Collected Automatically

When you visit and use our Site, we may automatically collect and store the following information:

1. Location;

2. Clicked links; and

3. Content viewed.

We may also collect the following data when you perform certain functions on our Site:

How We Use Personal Data

Data collected on our Site will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or

indicated on the relevant pages of our Site. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose in this Privacy Policy. The data we collect automatically is used for the following purposes:

1. Analytics.

2. To facilitate a booking

Who We Share Personal Data With

Employees. ​​We may disclose user data to any member of our organization who reasonably needs access to user data to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

1. If the law requires it;

2. If it is required for any legal proceeding;

3. To prove or protect our legal rights; and

4. To buyers or potential buyers of this company in the event that we seek to sell the company.

How Long We Store Personal Data

User data will be stored until the purpose the data was collected for has been achieved. You will be notified if your data is kept for longer than this period.

How We Protect Your Personal Data

In order to protect your security, all of our data is saved on servers in secure facilities. All data is only accessible through WIX and JANE to our employees. Our employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements. ​While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

If you would like to know if we have collected your personal data, how we have used your personal data, if we have disclosed your personal data and to who we disclosed your personal data, or if you would like your data to be deleted or modified in any way, please contact us.

Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file, stored on a user's hard drive by a website. Its purpose is to collect data relating to the user's browsing habits. You can choose to be notified each time a cookie is transmitted. You can also choose to disable cookies entirely in your internet browser, but this may decrease the quality of your user experience. Analytical cookies allow us to improve the design and functionality of our Site by collecting data on how you access our Site, for example data on the content you access, how long you stay on our Site, etc.

This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to our data collection process. When we amend this Privacy Policy we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
